BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Gary Burns is a lifelong San Rafael resident currently living in Terra Linda.  Gary graduated from San Rafael High School in 1972. At San Rafael, he played varsity baseball for two years and was named All-MCAL first team in his senior year. He attended San Diego State University where he completed his BA in Journalism, graduating with honors. He played one year of baseball at SDSU.

After returning home from college, he accepted a part-time job writing about local sports for the Independent Journal. Gary worked part-time for the IJ for more than 20 years. He also wrote for the San Rafael News Pointer. He currently works for the City of San Rafael in the Community Services Department.  He has been with the City for more than 15 years, handling adult sports programming, the Marin Juniors Volleyball program, scheduling rentals and classes at the B Street Community Center and scheduling the use of the Albert Park baseball softball facility. Beyond serving on the MAF board, he also sits of the MAF Hall of Fame selection committee.
